STUDENT MINISTRY FUNDRAISERS
Lunch & Auction – On March 4, following Worship, the Student Ministry will be hosting this fundraiser for their Chicago Mission Trip. If you have any items you would like to donate or wish to make a dessert to be auctioned off, please contact Pastor Josh. Cost will be $8 per person ($4 for kids 5 & under). The menu for lunch is traditional lasagna, garlic bread, house salad, & a triple chocolate brownie.
Please make plans to stay and support our Student Ministry!
Miles for Missions – The Student Ministry is also seeking sponsors for each mile they will be traveling to, from, & around Chicago – 914 miles. Each mile is $1 so sponsor as many miles as you wish! For each mile you sponsor, they are also asking that you commit to pray for them for that number of minutes, while they are on the trip. For example: If you sponsor 5 miles, you will pray for the team for 5 minutes or if you sponsor 100 miles, you will pray for them for 100 minutes while they are gone, etc
If you would like to sponsor miles, be sure to mark your check or envelope of cash with “Miles for Missions” and place it in the offering plate.
CENTRIKID CAMP – June 22-24 – Campbellsville University
Children’s camp is right around the corner for students entering 3rd- 6th grade. Pay $80 per child and the church pays the rest. Sign up by February 11th at the Welcome Desk. A deposit of $50 is due at sign up. The remaining $30 is due by March 4th. Pastor Tim is looking forward to a great camp weekend! See him with any questions.
When someone in our church family has lost a loved one or they themselves have passed away, we often provide the family a meal after the funeral services. The church provides the meat, but we ask our church family to provide sides and desserts. When a meal is scheduled we have a list of people to call upon to provide those dishes. We are updating that call list so if you would like to be added to that list, please contact Sandra Hinton or Marilyn McMahan.
OCC SHOEBOX DONATIONS
If you are not familiar with Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Program, it is where shoeboxes are collected that are filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. They are then sent around the world to children in countries affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, and disease. These boxes are used to present to them the Gospel of Jesus and to let them know of God’s love. One box can potentially reach up to 15 people. As a church body, we donate specific items year-round and then have a packing party in November to fill the boxes with the items that have been given throughout the year. Below is the list of items we are currently collecting, though we will take anything from the list at any time. A full list can be found on the table in the Welcome Area. See Marilyn McMahan with any questions.
We hope to fill at least 550 boxes this year!
January – bar soap & washcloths
February – toothbrushes (10-15 if possible), hats & gloves on clearance
